Therefore it is crucial that ICC profiles for digital cameras describe the gamut completely and accurately. Color Solutions Software´s basICColor dcam is based on the latest methods in color management to guarantee the highest profile quality. The handling is extremly easy, because basICColor dcam is a Photoshop plug in. Take a shot of the target with your digital camera, open it in Photoshop, launch basICColor dcam and choose the reference file.
basICColor dcam will calculate the optimal camera profile fully automatically. The profile is immediately available in Photoshop and all other ICC compatible applications. After profiling, reference squares in the color patches of the target show the profile quality.
Best results will be obtained with the new basICColor dcam target that is available with an integrated black trap. This guarantees for absolute black and thus for the highest possible dynamic range. The back of the black trap box contains an absolutely neutral gray card that allows for gray balancing of your digital camera under different lighting conditions. The gray card is also available as a separate item.
